Discovered by the famous French explorer, LaSalle, in 1669, and announced by Governor William Seward in 1840, Webster became a well-respected area that would soon develop a vast and fascinating history. Split from North Penfield, Webster grew from a nearly 2,235 residents to an astounding 37,926 in the 2000 census.
