Irondequoit, which aptly means, “Where the land and waters meets,” is a well-stated name for this large town. It is bordered by not only Lake Ontario, but also the Genesee River, and Irondequoit Bay. It is also next to the 1000-acre Durand-Eastman Park and the City of Rochester making it extremely accessible to all residents. This developed suburb of more than 52,000 residents has the second largest police force in Monroe County. 

This town is full of history that will interest those of every age. The Town Hall complex includes a 1830s-era Pioneer House Museum that hosts a popular summer concert season and also displays the largest Fourth of July spectacle. Other attractions include theSeabreeze Amusement Park, Hot Dog Row, the House of Guitars, and the country’s oldest miniature golf course, recently added to the National Register of Historic Places. This town can surely remind those of what makes a town a home as well as bring each adult back to their childhood.
